Police arrest 21-y-o with imitation firearm in St Mary

A party Stewart Town, St Mary became the scene of an arrest when police swooped down an nabbed a man who they say had an imitation weapon Wednesday morning.

The man, 21-year-old Travis Shearer, has since been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

Reports are that about 12:45 a.m., a team of lawmen on patrol heard noises coming from the community and went to investigate. Upon arrival, Shearer was seen among a group of patrons acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.

He was accosted and searched, and the imitation firearm was reportedly found tucked in his waistband.

Shearer was taken into custody and later charged. His court date is being finalised.
