I am carrying a heavy burden

June 27, 2022

Dear Pastor,

I was talking to my husband about the word 'burden'recently. It is something that is carried and something that is emotionally difficult to bear. It is a source of great worry or stress. It is a heavy weight. We all carry something that weighs us down in life. Some burdens are heavier than others, but I believe in the power of Jesus, and praise God I have faith also.

I am carrying a burden for about seven years. It is a very heavy load. Sometimes it feels that I can't be happy because the burden is very heavy. Some days the burden that I carry talks to me. The devil wants me to give up and give in, but after tears and speaking to God, I refuse to give up. The other night I listened to your show and your topic was 'don't give up'. That topic was of the Lord and it was for me.

My husband and I are living in Ontario, Canada and we try to listen to you nightly.

Y

Dear Y,

I am so glad to hear from you. I understand that I do have a very large listenership in Canada. So, I should say a big hello to all the listeners. I thank you so very much for writing and for sharing with us, the blessings of God on your life. You have learned that Jesus is the burden-bearer, and you can take everything in prayer. The hymn writer puts it beautifully: 'What a friend we have in Jesus all our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer ... Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?'

You haven't said what type of burden you have been carrying for seven years, but I can assure you that Jesus is the burden bearer. So you should continue to have confidence in him. He will never leave you nor forsake you. You know that very well. I am only trying to say to you that you should never give up. So keep strong. I will be praying for you.
