Third for Jackson in Paris
OLYMPIC Games 100m bronze medallist Shericka Jackson had a top three finish in the Women's 6Om at the Meeting de Paris Indoor meet in France on Sunday.
Jackson finished in 7.18 seconds behind Switzerland's Mujinga Kambundji (meet record 7.06) and Lotta Kemppinen (season's best 7.17) of Finland. Shashalee Forbes, the other Jamaican in the race, was fifth in 7.26.
Jackson is the third fastest Jamaican over the event this season with 7.12 seconds, behind Olympic Games 4x100m relay teammates, Elaine Thompson Herah (7.04) and Briana Williams (7.09).
The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association set to release the national team for the World Athletics Indoor Championships this week. This event takes place in Belgrade, Serbia from March 18-20.
It is likely that Jackson will be included in the team for the 60m, joining Williams, as Thompson Herah said that her second place finish in the event in Poland was her final indoor race this year.
