Blake: JAAA, JADCO partnership a major success
President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), Dr Warren Blake, says their partnership with the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) has been a major success over the years.
Blake told STAR Sports that JADCO has been doing a great job in educating the country's athletes about the use of prohibited substance in sports. He also said this has resulted in no adverse analytical finding over the past two years in the sport.
"It is saying that the education programme is having some success because there hasn't been any in two years, and we hope that this will continue for a long time in the future," said Blake, who was in attendance at JADCO's Decennial Gala on Wednesday at the Terra Nova Hotel in Kingston.
He added: "The relationship between the JAAA and JADCO has always been a good one because they assist us with the education programme and in getting the message out to our young athletes. At all our development meets JADCO has a presence.

"We just want them to continue with the education programmes because we firmly believe that the way to stamp out doping in sports is to educate the younger ones. The way to go in real competition is to believe in yourself, work hard, train hard and perform hard and not to rely on supplements to enhance their performances," Blake said.
Newly appointed chief executive officer of JADCO, June Spence-Jarrett, was officially introduced by the association's chairman Alexander Williams during Wednesday's night gala. Meanwhile, Minister of the State in the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Alando Terrelonge, was the keynote speaker at the gala.
