Antigua see off Bermuda in friendly
ST JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC):
Antigua and Barbuda repelled a fightback by Bermuda to win their friendly international 3-2 here on Wednesday night with four of the goals being scored by players based in England.
Rhys Browne, who plays for League Two side Yeovil Town, seized on a poor back pass to put the home side ahead in the 13th minute.
But midfielder Zeiko Lewis, who has just joined Icelandic club FH after being released by New York Red Bulls last November, gained parity for the visitors with a 24th minute equaliser as the sides reached the break level at 1-1.
FINEFINISH
Josh Parker, a winger who plays for League One club Gillingham, restored the home side's lead in the 58th minute before Myles Weston, a left-winger in the fifth tier of English football with National League side Ebbsfleet United, increased the advantage with a fine finish from just inside the box in the 61st minute.
Bermuda captain Reggie Lambe, a winger with League Two side Carlisle United, pulled a goal back in the 70th minute to give the visitors fresh hope and substitute Justin Donawa almost forced an equaliser when his shot hit the post.
Bermuda will complete their Caribbean swing when they take on Barbados in another friendly tomorrow hoping to avenge a 3-2 home defeat last October.
