Gang war leaves one dead, three injured along Red Hills Road
A 41-year-old woman was shot dead and three others injured during a shooting along Red Hills Road in St Andrew last night.
She has been identified as Sherine Pinnock, of a St Andrew address.
The police say that about 10:20 pm Pinnock and a group of people were sitting outside a bar when a motorcar drove up beside them.
Two men allegedly exited the vehicle and opened fire on the group of individuals, hitting Pinnock several times in the upper body.
She was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Head of the St Andrew Central Police Division, Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, said the shooting is stemming from a conflict between rival gangs within the space.
"The other three persons are still in hospital but we have gathered that the shooting has some connection with gang members who are at odds, featuring the Gunman Town and Diplomat gangs. We are still probing for more leads but the investigation is in its early stage," he said.
